fluorescent adolescent

i had my last injection in my knee today.
After the operation, ive had 3 awesomely painful injections to my knee.
Awesome.

its not like a tiny thin needle.
its like this huge needle which im pretty sure doubles up as some sort of ancient ninja weapon.

when I first saw the thing, I was like…that better be for a horse in some animal hospital.

And the doctor who administers it…
Hes a nice bloke and all…
But seriously
He tries to make small talk while I lie there, awaiting my death via lethal injection.

Hes like “so how is studying finance? You enjoy it? What do you think of the current stock market?”

And im there just looking at him loading up the syringe with liquids, scared to death.

My answers all come out retarded, like
“finance is similar to chemistry” or
“yes the stock market is strong…”

and then…mid-sentence, the dude jabs el needle into el knee…
the pain is phenomenal.
Primarily because this huge-ass needle scrapes past your bones to get to its target.
Uggh.

ive realized one thing throughout my enforced stay at home though.
don’t sweat the small stuff.
seriously.

In my school, everyone is obsessed with something or the other.
Its one big rat-race.
Grades.
Internships.
Connections.
Networking.
Grouping for projects.

Seriously, nobody ever takes some time off.
To just reflect on who they are, what theyre doing, etc.

Everyone is just caught up in the whirlwind of bullshit that is business school.

Sometimes, you need some time away from everything.
To get direction and focus.
Sure, I may have ‘wasted’ away 2 months of my life being at home.

Im pretty sure I had a way better holiday than most other people.
Okay I cancelled my NY trip…but theres always December for that.

And everyone takes their ability to walk for granted.
Seriously, I always did.
And then, just like that, I could not use my left leg for almost 2 months.
Try it mate, its easier said than done.

But my friends were all real understanding.

They didn’t mind chillin’ at my place on the weekends.
Club arzish was never empty, strangely enough.
And the gf.
Well she really was amazing.
She never complained bout my tantrums and my frustration.
She never said anything even though we haven’t gone out for a proper dinner for 6weeks.
And she’d buy food and come over and we’d just watch dvds
gotta show some appreciation.
Shes a special one.

So yeah
The holidays are nearly over.
Sure, it would have been cool if I had a left leg THAT WORKED.
But in all honesty
Im happy.
Life is good.
You just gotta take some time to appreciate it.

In other news..

In the most random thing ever, I was asked by a friend at 2am to write an article by the following afternoon.
I had free time (duh) and wrote about my beloved Southampton FC.
Lo and behold, 2 days later, im in the back pages of the New Paper, complete with a colour photo (thanks gf!)

Heres the link:

Thanks to all for their kind smses.
Appreciate the support people!

Heres a couple of random thoughts:

Lionel messi is amazingly talented. Its ridiculous how much talent he has.

Andriy voronin is gonna be a huge hit for Liverpool. Trust me.

As is Eduardo for arsenal.

I watched alpha dog. Timberlake can act. Movie is pretty decent.

entourage is absolutely brilliant. i love it. (thx calvin)

I almost cried when optimus prime appeared.

Live the dream is a lame show, hosted by fags.

Blender and spin are brilliant magazines. GQ is decent as well.
The local FHM and Maxim are shite.
and the local New Man is worth less than my primary 4 jotter book.

We await black Sabbath.

Im looking forward to goin to the singfest (what a gay name) day 2.
The aim is to pummel some annoying kids, while moshing to avenged sevenfold.

Facebook is the way to go.
Friendster who?

Aite thats it for now.
Much love to all those who matter.
Esp. the gf.
im out.

Clothes Off

Sooooooooooooo

Have you ever wondered how it feels to not be able to use your left leg for 34 days?
Thankfully for you, the boy wonder has made it his mission to answer that pertinent question for you!

Here are some ways ive been spending my time in my room (aka Club Arzish) during this period of incapacitation

Trying to do stunts on my crutch (I can do a somersault. Ok maybe not)

Formula 1 racing with myself on my computer chair (I seem to be on a winning streak)

Trying to make my family believe I am Optimus Prime (my crutches double up as nifty robot arms)

Re-organizing my CD collection (according to weight)

Juggling pens (highlighters are a hindrance)

Counting the number of tiny paper circles in the thing below the hole-puncher (so far, im at 3)

Making my own groovy cocktails with water, ice, and more water

Practicing my moves on the dance floor (a.k.a. the space in front of my bed)

Reading inane article on wikipedia (check out the one bout the weirdest deaths recorded. Too lazy to paste the link)

Not updating my blog (the lazinessss it burnssss)

Nothing much has been up.

Transformers was a brilliant movie.
Go to hell stupid Singaporean newspaper critics.
What do you know anyways?
The rule of thumb is that if the fat critics say “it’s a horrid movie”, odds are, it’ll be great.

Ok im tired.
Gonna have to call it a night since I gotta wake up at 9am to watch brazil – uruguay.
Copa America is brilliant.

Since I cant go for my proposed concerts in NYC, dad is letting me go for all the concerts coming up here.
Black Sabbath
the Cure
Funeral for a Friend
Avenged Sevenfold (and whoever else is at the fest…)

so its not that bad I guess.

thats it for now.
thanks to all the patrons of club arzish.
appreciate the support.
especially le gf.
love to all those who matter.
im out.
